Napoli Shkolnik Wins $750k Medical Malpractice Settlement

Napoli Shkolnik, PLLC is proud to announce a recovery of $750,000 on behalf of our client, a Bronx woman who suffered serious injuries as a result of medical malpractice.  Our client had been admitted to a Bronx hospital to undergo a routine shoulder surgery.  Prior to the start of the surgery, she was administered general anesthesia, bupivacaine. Almost immediately after being administered the anesthesia, she went into cardiac arrest, required resuscitation and fell into a coma.

Our office claimed that the anesthesiologist and medical staff negligently administered the anesthesia, causing toxicity and her cardiac arrest.  We also claimed that the hospital staff failed to have the appropriate medication necessary for resuscitation readily available, causing a delay.  As a result of these events, our client suffered brain damage which caused cognitive deficits and memory loss.

The medical malpractice attorneys from Napoli Shkolnik, PLLC aggressively prosecuted this matter.  After the defendants made an initial offer of $150,000 at mediation, which was declined, the case was prepared for trial.  Through negotiations which continued up until shortly before trial was to begin, our attorneys were able to secure a settlement of $750,000 on behalf of our client, five times the initial offer.

The case was handled by our medical malpractice associates, Joseph Ciaccio and Kristina Georgiou.

If you believe you or a loved one were the victim of medical negligence, you must not delay in consulting with medical malpractice lawyers who are experienced in such matters.  The attorneys at Napoli Shkolnik, PLLC have years of experience handling cases involving medical malpractice.
