Marie Napoli Honored by her Alma Mater

Marie Napoli was recently recognized by the St. John’s University Board of Trustees for her ongoing commitment and professional contributions to the University.

In her remarks, Marie commented on her long history with St. John’s. In a lucky twist of fate, the institution lead to her parent’s meeting! Marie would go on to study at St. John’s University for undergrad and then continued on to St. John’s University School of Law where she met her future husband, Paul Napoli.

Things had certainly changed from when her father attended the law school, there only being one women’s restroom on the first floor during his time at the school. However, she and her father were proudly part of the progress the school made for women.

St. John’s became a second home for the Napoli’s. In addition to the valuable lessons and education they received, the school, the staff and the alumni  stood by Paul and Marie during their successful battles with cancer and through difficult professional times.

In appreciation of this support, Marie and Paul have established scholarships and internship programs through the school. In 2004, they donated funds for The Paul and Marie Kaiser Napoli Lecture Hall which features WiFi, charging station, a SMART podium and seats 160 people. Marie has served on the University’s Board of Governors  and the law school’s Dean’s Advisory Board.

At the end of the day, Marie knows that St. John’s has helped shaped her become a strong, confident and successful litigator. As a mother, Marie is instilling the value of a good education in her children and who knows, a third generation could be attending the school in the near future.
