Flint Town Carnival Brings community together to discuss water issues
The National Clean Water Collective (NCWC), Napoli Shkolnik PLLC, NorthStar Social Justice Law Group and Darley Hosted a very successful carnival this past Saturday, in an effort to bring cheer, school supplies, water, and awareness to local residents.
The organizers of this event are focused on bringing cheer to the Flint community, all while creating public awareness about legal rights. Author, Actor and Founder of NorthStar Hill Harper will delivered a speech to the public to encourage citizen advocacy and responsibility and provided up-to-date information about their legal options as Flint residents.
However, the main focus of the day was for children and their families to have a great time. Attendees played in bouncy houses, a water slide, carnival games, prize giveaways, and much more.
NCWC’s calculated and relentless approach has attracted influential figures from a diverse range of industries across the nation. Their plan of action provides a comprehensive framework for grassroots action. “We recognize that it is important for us to come together, from politicians to local citizens. As time goes on, the situation in Flint has worsened to where the water pods have closed causing a dire need for us to act now and act quickly,” says the Director of Community Programs of the National Clean Water Collective.
Paul Napoli, Of Counsel to Napoli Shkolnik PLLC, added, “Families with young children are now beginning to see the manifestation of the debilitating side effects of lead exposure. We remain committed to the people of Flint and continue our efforts in bringing a resolution.”
