The human toll as well as the financial toll on city services prompted the Sanford City Council to enter into an agreement with a New York law firm, Napoli Shkolnik PLLC, to join a lawsuit against opioid manufacturers and distributors. According to City Manager Steve Buck, Napoli Shkolnik is a world renowned law firm, best known for their success in multi-district lawsuits, such as the 9/11 Twin Tower class action suit in New York.
