Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, facing civil contempt allegations related to the New York opioid litigation, is in hot water in a case that highlights the increasingly high stakes for law firms handling voluminous discovery. Senior enforcement counsel in the AG’s office, and Napoli Shkolnik have argued it was impossible to know what the result of the lack of the discovery would do to the plaintiffs’ case. “In 35 years-plus practicing law, I have never seen such blatant contempt and disregard of the rules of practice,” Napoli Shkolnik partner Hunter Shkolnik told Law.com. “Endo and its lawyers have been caught, and it’s time for justice to be served.” Download
