Our client was a union steelworker who volunteered to clean up debris at the World Trade Center site after 9/11. He developed rectosigmoid cancer, which affects the rectum and colon, after being exposed to fumes and toxins at the site after working 40 hours in only a few days. He became disabled and was no longer able to work. He became disabled and was no longer able to work. His award comprised of non-economic loss for his pain and suffering and economic loss due to his loss of earnings.
