Our client, an experienced factory worker, was using a hot stamping machine during the course of his employment when the machine malfunctioned and abruptly descended onto his hands. The malfunction trapped and crushed his hands, causing him to sustain third degree burns and broken bones. The burns and injuries necessitated a skin harvesting procedure where a tangential excision and split thickness autograft was taken from the right thigh to the bilateral hands.
