CBS NEWS FEATURES JOSEPH CIACCIO ON NAPOLI SHKOLNIK’S GROWING LITIGATION AGAINST WEBER OVER DEFECTIVE GRILL BRUSHES

April 10, 2026

Napoli Shkolnik partner Joseph Ciaccio was recently featured on CBS News discussing the firm's growing number of lawsuits against Weber for injuries caused by its defective metal wire grill brushes.

The lawsuits allege that Weber knew or had reason to know that bristles could detach from its grill brushes during normal use and failed to warn consumers of the risk. The litigation follows Weber's February 2026 recall of more than 3.2 million metal wire grill brushes.

Ciaccio described the severity of injuries sustained by the firm's clients, telling CBS News, "All of our clients have undergone surgeries. The man in New Jersey still has a piece of the brush stuck in his pancreas. The child that we represent here on Long Island needed to undergo two throat surgeries just to remove the bristle."

Among those represented by Napoli Shkolnik is Bruce Lynch, who spoke to CBS News about the lasting impact of his injuries. "I still have scarring in my right eye. I still have limited vision. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy," Lynch said.

The cases highlight a pattern of preventable harm caused by a product that remained on the market despite known risks to consumers. The firm is also pursuing litigation related to the March 2026 Nexgrill wire grill brush recall. If you or someone you know was injured by a Weber or Nexgrill wire grill brush, contact Napoli Shkolnik to discuss your legal options.
