The Ohio federal judge overseeing multidistrict litigation over the opioid crisis told the Sixth Circuit that pharmacies looking to block nationwide discovery are contradicting themselves by raising privacy concerns when they've tried to pry sensitive health data from plaintiffs in the past. Hunter J. Shkolnik of Napoli Shkolnik, who represents Cuyahoga County, said in an emailed statement that Judge Polster’s letter was an appropriate response to continued attempts to discredit him. "The attack on Judge Polster by the chain pharmacies was uncalled for,” Shkolnik said. “In a very measured tone the judge outlined the chain pharmacies' hypocritical approach to defending this case and their conduct that lead to this epidemic.”
