Partner Joseph Ciaccio was featured on WPIX News discussing the historic nurses’ strike affecting thousands of healthcare workers across New York City's major hospital systems.

The strike comes amid serious concerns about patient safety during labor actions. In 2023, a similar strike at Mount Sinai Hospital resulted in tragedy when an infant died after the hospital allegedly replaced experienced nurses with unqualified staff during the work stoppage. Joseph represents the family of the infant.

“How many nurses are being brought in? There should be a lot of concern there about the safety of patients, as these nurses are telling us,” Ciaccio told WPIX.

As hospitals, including Mt. Sinai, continue transferring patients and bringing in temporary travel nurses, questions about staffing quality and patient safety remain at the forefront of the conversation.
