A water utility suing the Chemours Co., Corteva Inc. and E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. inc. over forever chemical contamination stemming from the Fayetteville Works plant in eastern North Carolina saw a number of claims survive their bid to have its suit thrown out.

The utility claims the companies discharged wastewater and airborne emissions containing various polyfluorinated chemicals, including perfluorooctanoic acid, or PFOA, and GenX, from the Fayetteville Works Plant, contaminating the Cape Fear River, the air multiple counties and groundwater supplying some of its systems.

"We look forward to continuing to litigate those claims, as the defendants must be held accountable for the widespread PFAS contamination they have caused, which has injured not only our county but countless others in the Cape Fear region," said Napoli Shkolnik Partner 安德鲁·克罗纳.
