ABC7 Investigates Cancer Concerns in NY Community

July 11, 2022

A recent New York Department of Health Study found "statistically significant elevations of various cancers" in the Northport community in Suffolk County. The Northport East Northport Middle School even had to temporarily close after chemical toxins were found. Residents represented by Napoli Shkolnik are pursuing a class-action lawsuit against the district for negligence. Napoli Shkolnik's attorney Lilia Factor speaks to ABC7 about the case. The report shows that the number of people with cancer living within the entire school district is statistically significant, especially for pancreatic, uterine, and prostate cancer. Lymphoma (type of cancer) was found in many young adults. If you or someone you know lives in or around the Northport East area and has suffered from cancer, please reach out to us if you want to be a part of this class-action law suit.
