What is Andexxa (Andexanet Alfa)?

Andexxa (andexanet alfa) is a medication used in hospitals to help reverse the effects of certain Factor Xa blood thinners in emergency situations. In late 2025, the FDA issued updated safety communications noting postmarketing reports of serious and sometimes fatal thromboembolic events in some patients treated with Andexxa and stated the risks may outweigh the benefits.
AstraZeneca has confirmed it ended U.S. commercial sales after December 22, 2025.
