Class-Action Lawsuit Filed Against Central Maine Power
July 20, 2018
Several law firms, including New York City based Napoli Shkolnik PLLC, have joined together to file a class-action lawsuit against Central Maine Power.
The firms estimate about 200,000 customers saw charges increase less than 50 percent.
CMP has repeatedly said it had not found any problems to explain why hundreds of customers reported higher-than-average bills this past winter. CMP said October’s windstorm that knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of people and a cold winter resulted in increased usage.
