Uber Technologies, Inc. agreed to settle a lawsuit by drivers who say the company’s practice of paying based on upfront fare estimates shorted drivers on pay they were due for a trip’s actual time and distance. The company previously used a system similar to a traditional taxi meter that charged an amount at the end of the ride based on time and distance.
