Eliquis

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ELIQUIS CASES

Much like the dangerous drugs Pradaxa and Xarelto, Eliquis—active ingredient apiaxaban—is a blood thinning medication that could cause serious injury.

Used to prevent blood clots, Eliquis has been linked to a number of preventable health hazards. Many of those who have been injured by taking Eliquis have wondered whether or not they have a cause of action to file suit against Eliquis’ manufacturer, Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer.

Eliquis: A Dangerous Blood-thinning Drug?

While Eliquis, like the other two anticoagulant drugs mentioned above, was designed to provide a safer alternative to the traditional blood-thinning medication Warfarin, it does so at a significant risk of uncontrollable and unstoppable bleeding for the patient. The bleeding can be external, in the event that the patient suffers a cut or laceration, or internal. Internal bleeding can include or/and lead to:

  • Rectal bleeding;
  • Bleeding of the kidneys;
  • Cerebral hemorrhages; and
  • Death.

Bleeding, both internal and external, is especially dangerous as there is no antidote for these types of anticoagulant medications. Eliquis can also lead to spinal blood clot (hematoma).
