{"id":14544,"date":"2022-12-21T17:01:27","date_gmt":"2022-12-21T22:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/18fbf770e8.nxcli.io\/?post_type=whitepapers&#038;p=14544"},"modified":"2022-12-22T16:44:51","modified_gmt":"2022-12-22T21:44:51","slug":"city-of-buffalo-suing-gun-industry-members","status":"publish","type":"whitepapers","link":"https:\/\/www.napolilaw.com\/whitepapers\/city-of-buffalo-suing-gun-industry-members\/","title":{"rendered":"City of Buffalo suing gun industry members"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced what was referred to as a \u201cfirst of its kind\u201d lawsuit against some members of the firearm industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The City of Buffalo says those named in the lawsuit include \u201cmanufacturers, distributors, and other local gun shops.\u201d Among them are Glock, Beretta, Remington, and Smith &amp; Wesson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The reason for the lawsuit, according to the city, is \u201ctheir conduct in fueling the gun violence crisis in the City of Buffalo.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2018 to 2019, Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia says there was a roughly 25 percent drop in shootings, with the final number being an estimated 188 or 189.
