$4,500,000 Private Mediation Construction Settlement
Our client, a 46-year-old union electrician worker, was in the process of installing fiber optic cables in a cement vault six-feet underground in a manhole when an electric wet-dry vacuum (filled with approximately fifteen gallons of water) rolled towards the uncovered manhole and fell on our client’s head and neck.

We obtained summary judgment as to liability under Labor Law §240(1).  The client sustained numerous severe and permanent lumbar and cervical injuries that eventually required a lumbar fusion, cervical fusion and cervical fusion revision.

Due to the injuries sustained, the client has been unable to return to work as an electrician.
