Napoli Shkolnik Junior Partner Stephen J. Maloney, Jr.<\/a> spoke to People<\/em><\/a> <\/em>on the condition of his client, Nicholas Russo, who suffered catastrophic brain injuries while playing a recreational softball game at a Town of Smithtown-owned field. Nicholas\u2019 foot slipped and became wedged in a gap between two bases that were not connected, causing his leg to hyperextend and twist before he fell and struck his head on the turf field.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt really just comes down to taking it day by day and seeing how he improves and how his body responds,\u201d Maloney told People.<\/em> \u201cWe all wish we had a clearer answer or outlook, but we just don\u2019t know. It\u2019s going to take time.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Napoli Shkolnik remains committed to pursuing accountability for the Russo family while advocating for those whose lives have been forever changed by preventable injuries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
