In fact, the supposed family friendly company did nothing, not even putting a warning label on the box despite the numerous research studies showing the connection between talcum powder and ovarian cancer.<\/p>\n<p>These studies go back over 40 years and have \u00a0resulted in the recommendation by the scientists involved that Johnson &amp; Johnson should place a warning on its talcum powders about the <a href=\"\/article\/jj-talc-powder-and-ovarian-cancer-lawsuit-update\/\">ovarian cancer risks<\/a> so that women could make an informed decision about their health. Still the company did not let women know that there is a significant risk associated with their health and the use of their products.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors have been presented with the evidence and agree with the dangers associated with Johnson &amp; Johnson&#8217;s products and awarded an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorklawjournal.com\/home\/native-ad?mvi=fbe5820ddfce42ac9ea8f98b583dc7b2&amp;et=editorial&amp;bu=New%20York%20Law%20Journal&amp;cn=20161216&amp;src=EMC-Email&amp;pt=Daily%20News&amp;slreturn=20161116161051\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">8-figure verdict<\/a> in a trial charging the company knew its talc-based Baby Powder and Shower to Shower Powder causes ovarian cancer, and failed to warn women who used it.<\/p>\n<p>As one juror, Jerome Kendrick, put it, &#8220;They (Johnson &amp; Johnson) tried to cover up and influence the boards that regulate cosmetics.&#8221; He went on to say that the company&#8217;s internal memos &#8220;pretty much sealed myopinion&#8230;they could have at least put a warning label on the box but they didn&#8217;t.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Read the full <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorklawjournal.com\/home\/native-ad?mvi=fbe5820ddfce42ac9ea8f98b583dc7b2&amp;et=editorial&amp;bu=New%20York%20Law%20Journal&amp;cn=20161216&amp;src=EMC-Email&amp;pt=Daily%20News&amp;slreturn=20161116161051\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New York Law Journal article<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Johnson &amp; Johnson has known about the increased ovarian cancer risk associated with the use of their talc-based products but failed to warn women who used it.
