Weber Recalled More Than 3.2 Million Grill Brushes

On February 26, 2026, Weber-Stephen Products LLC Anunciado a nationwide recall of certain metal wire bristle grill brushes in coordination with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall involves millions of brushes sold over more than a decade.

Nexgrill Recalled 10.2 Million Grill Brushes

On March 26, 2026, Nexgrill Industries, Inc. Anunciado a nationwide recall of specific modes of their metal wire bristle grill brushes in coordination with the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission. The recall takes place following 68 reports of bristle detachment including 5 reports on consumers who swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment to remove the bristles from their digestive tract or throat.
According to CPSC, the danger presented with both brand grill brushes is that small metal bristles can break off during normal use, remain on the grill surface or transfer into food, and be accidentally swallowed. These injuries may not be obvious right away and can become serious very quickly.

What Is the Risk?

A Hidden Hazard in an Everyday Household Product

Metal bristles from recalled grill brushes can be extremely small and difficult to see. After detaching, they may:
  • Stick to grill grates
  • Transfer onto cooked food
  • Be accidentally swallowed by consumers
Because these wires may not be visible, many people do not realize what happened until they begin experiencing pain or other medical complications.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Weber and Nexgrill have recalled some of their metal grill brushes because the wire bristles are breaking off during use. These small metal bristle pieces can remain on the grill or can lodge into food and be accidentally swallowed, creating a serious injury risk.
Loose metal bristles can cause injuries if ingested, including punctures to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract. In some cases, they can lead to internal bleeding, infection, or require medical procedures to remove.
Stop using it immediately. You can contact Weber or Nexgrill for a replacement and safely dispose of the brush. Continuing to use it may increase the risk of injury.
Safer options include bristle-free grill brushes, grill stones, wooden scrapers, or coil-style cleaners. These alternatives reduce the risk of loose metal pieces transferring to food.
Swallowing a bristle can cause sharp internal injuries that may not be immediately noticeable. Symptoms can include pain when swallowing, stomach pain, or infection—and in some cases, surgery may be required to remove the object.
When a product poses a widespread safety risk, it may lead to recalls, investigations, and legal claims. These cases often focus on holding companies accountable and helping affected individuals understand their legal options and determine whether their case is eligible.
