Pharmaceutical Litigation Attorneys

Low testosterone, colloquially called low-t, is one of the most commonly diagnosed medical conditions amongst aging men. However, in addition to concerns about whether those who are diagnosed with the condition are actually suffering from it (or just experiencing normal symptoms associated with age), drugs manufactured to treat low-t may be dangerous. If you have been diagnosed with low testosterone and prescribed low-t drugs, or if you have taken testosterone injections or pills in order to treat delayed puberty, impotence, or breast cancer, here is what you need to know:

The Risks of Testosterone Drugs

Men are often prescribed low-t drugs to treat ‘lifestyle’ problems rather than medical ones. And the risks of taking low-t drugs are many – studies indicate that taking a low testosterone prescription can increase a man’s risk of:
  • Heart attack;
  • Stroke; and
  • Death.
In fact, in March of 2015, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) issued a safety announcement cautioning against the use of low-t drugs for aging, and requiring low-t drug manufacturers to change labels on their products to include risks of heart attack and stroke. Testosterone injections may also be given to women who are suffering from breast cancer, or to men or boys who are suffering from symptoms caused by a lack of the hormone (delayed puberty, erectile dysfunction, etc.) However, testosterone injections, pellets, and pills have been associated with emotional changes, changes in sexual function, changes in sleep patterns, gynecomastia, and more.

What Do I Need to Know About Filing a Lawsuit?

Low-t drugs and testosterone therapy can be very dangerous for a patient. If you have suffered harm as a result of either, you may have the right to civil action. To help you understand whether or not you are entitled to file a suit and reclaim damages, and how to file a lawsuit directly against a dangerous drug’s manufacturer, you need an attorney. At Napoli Shkolnik, PLLC, our experienced pharmaceutical litigation team is ready to go to bat for you. To learn more, schedule a consultation with us to discuss your case today.
